Is loss such a bad thing?

The last 4 years have taught us a lot. We went from normal to the unexpected and. Nobody really expected things to be this tough. We all experienced loss in some way. But is loss such a bad thing?

A matter of perception

I have definitely learned a lot over the past 4 years. Yes it was tough, but Daoism teaches us the the world is always moving. Nothing stays the same and only a fool would think that the world stays still. Dealing with the loss of anything is a reality we must all deal with. If something was yours, it will be. If not, it was never meant to be. You win some and you lose some. Difficult times and people come into your life, but let's not lose sleep, as one day they disappear. On the other hand, difficult times and people serve a purpose. They present to you into a different perspective and challenges. These challenges move on, but will be replaced by new challenges. These challenges are useful to your personal growth. It isn't pleasant, but that is life. So you find a way to get ahead. Use this to motivate yourself and seek new solutions and ideas. This mean coming up with something new, not going off and copying somebody else's work and passing it off as your own. You need depth in your art to be able to do this. Friends and familiar surroundings are nice to have, but they represent a comfort zone which might not give you the kick you need to make you move. The Yin to the Yang. Be grateful for life's lessons. Let go and seize the day.

The things I worked for 4 years ago aren't the same as what I seek now. Books and CDs I owned back then, I no long need or that I don't have time to enjoy. Things I worked hard to gain, probably wasn't worth it? Some things just aren't important as they were. Of what you never gained, they were never yours to begin with. So you let go, move on and and seek new challenges.
