Scouts honour

I was kindly invited by local cubs and beavers to do a talk and demo on Tai Chi & Qigong as part of Chinese New Year. I used to bump into this group when my class was on Friday nights. It is nice to be able to give something back to the community. The act of giving (Dāna in Sanskrit) has a strong tradition in China. This does not just mean to give money, but your time and good will. The kids were very enthusiastic and I managed to answer a lot of questions. It is good that kids are interested in martial arts and some already do martial arts. It is good that they can see the difference and the contract in martial arts culture. I did a short sabre demo and taught them a few Qigong moves. It looks like they really enjoyed it and I certainly am happy to share my interest and knowledge with them. This is good as the art should be seen and appreciated. It's also a nice way to tie up the Chinese year.

I am more than happy to attend scout or other groups and do similar talks and demonstrations. Please feel free to contact me regarding availability and requirements.

Thank you for reading my blog.
