We were discussing one Saturday, on what we need to do to improve student's understanding and how they move.

This is a classic topic and one that baffles many. Weird limb placements? This is something we have all have been challenged by as beginners. We assume Tai Chi to be easy, but that is not the reality. In order to help get things right, we need to under that why we do what we do. In a previous blog, I mentioned about the Rashomon effect. We learn by copying, but how this information is processed differs from each other. With proper coaching and support, these errors slowly minimise. It sounds simple, but If I got a £1 coin for every time I commented about posture and feet placements. I'd be able to retire. When I was a beginner, I was no different.
How about if they don't move? Well there is a reason why we do this, but it isn't well understood. Standing still with a sword or holding a tree doesn't mean anything if you don't understand the reason why we do it. This method is of no method.
Thank you for reading my blog.
